 Name Plates
These are my own signature creation that I originally designed as place settings for my own wedding as I was after something a little quirky and unusual rather than having the traditional name tags. Name Plates consist of an original drawing with a handwritten name lacquered onto a black masonite square for protection, measuring approximately 18x17cm. Name Plates make ideal gifts as each is handmade and unique. They can be used as door plaques, placemats or can be simply an artwork on the wall.

Drawings

I love being able to capture an image from real life or my imagination by drawing it. My drawings vary from the realistic to a variety of different abstracts or slightly unusual flowers mainly stylised tulips, depending on my mood when I create them. I love using pastels as the feel of them on paper gives more vibrant emotive pieces, however at the moment I generally work with pencils and ink as they are easy to pack up when my daughter comes to interrupt.

Paintings

Painting although my favourite medium to work with has taken a backseat to drawing currently until I have an area dedicated to creative mess. My paintings are often figurative in bright reds, oranges and blues – I find the heat of red/orange bodies on a cool blue background irresistible. I mainly work with acrylics on canvas or paper.

Jewellery

I have undertaken studies in silver jewellery making and design. With the majority of pieces that I currently work on being beads with sterling silver wire interwoven to create unusual pieces that are more wearable art than traditional beaded jewellery. I like things to be a little out of the ordinary so my pieces are all one of a kind and original. I designed and made all the jewellery I wore at my wedding.

 Design
I enjoy the process of designing starting with an idea and working at it to achieve a finished piece. My biggest design achievement for myself was designing and creating my own wedding dress. I have recently started to utilise my design skills on the computer with the aid of photoshop to design logos, business cards, welcome montages and a variety of advertising material for myself. I use a combination of hand drawn and computer aided design in my creations. If you like my work and think I may be able to design something for you please ask.
