Social Media Scheduling

In the blog Social Media Planning I discussed the importance of planning social media to make your life easier.

The way it makes life easier is from a plan you can schedule the content.

So, each day it’s done, you don’t have to think, the posts are there, your present and visible on social media even if life gets in the way.

There are lots of ways to schedule your social media posts and a million different programs you can use to do it.

For Facebook I am lazy and use their own inbuilt scheduler, as it’s there. But what works for me may not work for you and I’m sure you can google to find all the other options out there and choose the best one for you.

When I schedule the posts; I do all one post type before moving onto the next.

If you can create all these at once in a ‘batch’ you will find it saves you time, as you’re not going back and forward between different folders when uploading images.

To save more time, you can create the words/captions for the posts in a word document then paste them in.

Posting Consistency

Because social media moves so fast you want to be consistent and show up regularly. Not only does it mean that more people will see what you post. It also means that people can see your business is still open and active.

Scheduling your posts helps with this consistency – even if your busy you are still present.

Have you ever looked at a business page on Facebook to check them out and noticed their last post was 3 months ago, 12 months ago etc? It makes you wonder, especially for online businesses are they still open? do you actually want to spend your money there or will you find somewhere else that is more active and you can see has been regular in their posting?

Maybe the business that isn’t active on social media is too busy to be on there, but because social media is so engrained in society at the moment, not being on at least one platform is a missed marketing opportunity for your business.

Show up every day like you do at your job, make it a non-negotiable part of your work day.

15-20 mins of planned time is all it takes to reply to comments or participate in groups relevant to your business and where your customers may be found.

Also remember to respond to comments in a genuine manner.

Treat your followers like you would a customer in your store.

The replies you make help with interaction on your page, they also build trust with your customers and show that you are interested in what they have to say.

What time of the day would be best to for you to schedule checking in on posts and responding to comments?
